French operatic baritone David Pouliquen made his professional stage debut at the International Opera Festival Lyrique-en-Mer in Belle-Île-en-Mer, as Fiorello in Rossini’s Barber of Seville in 2013. He was selected three times in Lyrique-en-Mer prestigious young artist program, and he has performed, most notably at Hôtel National des Invalides in Paris, Angers Grand Opera House, and Casa Museo Luciano Pavarotti. David Pouliquen has collaborated with Grammy Award winning tenor Thomas Glenn, Lyubov Petrova, Philip Walsh, Philip Morehead, Jeremy Bines, Mi-kyung Kim, Peter Tantsits, Erika Grace Powell, Gioacchino Lauro Li Vigni, Audrey Babcock, and Jonathan Beyer. David Pouliquen trained under Richard Cowan’s guidance from 2007 to 2015. He was selected for Gabriel Bacquier’s masterclass in 2011 and Mirella Freni’s masterclass in 2013. He deepened his practice and understanding of vocal technique with Michèle Command in Paris, and with Roberto Baccarini, who was taught by Arrigo Pola, in Modena. He furthered his education by attending simultaneously Université Rennes 2, where he received his PhD in Music with Distinction (advisor: Prof. Joseph Delaplace), and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, where he received his PhD in Human Sciences (advisor: Prof. Franco Nasi). David Pouliquen is the co-founder and co-president (with Prof. Marc Jeannin) of the International Cultural and Research Centre Dire et Chanter Les Passions.
