
Gaetano Stella is a pianist, musicologist, choir and orchestra director. He studied with Aquiles delle Vigne (piano), Teresa Procaccini (composition), Giorgio Sanguinetti (musicology), Giuseppe Piccillo (choral conducting) and Bruno Aprea (orchestra conducting). He is currently Professor of Music History at the L. Refice Conservatory in Frosinone.
He has published essays in important national journals (“Rivista di analisi e teoria musicale”) and abroad (“Journal of music theory”, U.S.A.), edited international conference proceedings (Istituto italiano per la storia della musica) and special issues of journals (“Rivista di analisi e teoria musicale”). He also took part in important conferences in Italy (national SIDM, GATM and other conferences), Belgium (Euromac 2014 in Louvain), Germany (Euromac 2008 in Freiburg), the United Kingdom (University of Durham) and the United States (Annual Conference of the American Musicological Society 2008).
