Riccardo Santoboni is Professor of Composition at the Conservatorio Licinio Refice of Frosinone (Italy); he also teaches Multimedia Composition at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome. At the University of Rome Tor Vergata he teaches in the Master in Sonic Arts. His research activity is mainly focused on HCI (Human Computer Interaction) for “computer-assisted composition” and correlations between sound stimuli and articulations, induced sensations, perceptual memories and emotions.
His compositions are performed in Europe, USA, Argentina, South Korea, etc.
The Bourges International Festival of Electronic Music asked him in 2000 for a CD with his compositions to be stored in a “time capsule.” In 2000 he founded the “Nabla Ensemble,” of which he is the director and performer of multimedia and live electronics works; the Nabla ensemble currently performs in Europe and the United States.
In 1998 he was the winner of the International Computer Music Competition XX “Luigi Russolo”. He was awarded a diploma of merit by New York University for “his outstanding contribution to the creation and promotion of new music.”
